Deconstructing Environmental Deregulation Under the Trump Administration

by Hannah Perls

Over the past four years, Harvard’s Environmental & Energy Law Program (EELP) tracked the Trump Administration’s environmental rollback efforts, analyzing both individual regulations and broader attacks on the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) missioncritical capacities. The goal was to provide a real-time accounting of the Administration’s deregulatory efforts and the lawsuits brought by coalitions of states, nonprofits, and community organizations to stop or delay those efforts. In this Vermont Law Review article, Deconstructing Environmental Deregulation Under the Trump Administration, EELP Legal Fellow Hannah Perls presents an overview of that work, summarizing the new baseline from which the Biden Administration must operate.
