EELP Seeks Executive Director

The Harvard Environmental and Energy Law Program is seeking a new Executive Director to:

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision and establish research priorities, in collaboration with the Faculty Director, with a focus on program growth;
  • Supervise and manage all program personnel, including all program staff, research fellows, affiliated scholars, guest fellows, and guest contributors;
  • Oversee the production, publication, and dissemination of research and other work products, as well as all media relations and outreach efforts;
  • Advance the program’s public profile through media outreach, the design and maintenance of our website, publications, videos, podcasts and the like;
  • Build and manage key strategic relationships with tenured environmental law faculty and support their policy-related work on behalf of the program;
  • Assist in the identification and management of funding opportunities and grant management for the program, participating directly in the fundraising process; and
  • Manage all day-to-day operations of the program, including the preparation of an annual budget, annual reporting, maintaining compliance in conjunction with HLS administrative policies

We’re looking for people who have experience with senior-level political and/or policy work, a demonstrated history of supervising staff, superb writing and communication skills, a strong record of collaboration and strategic thinking, and a deep network of legal and policy experts in environmental and energy law and policy circles, at both the federal and state levels, to draw upon in this work.
