EPA Administrator Michael Regan announced 47 new members, primarily academic researchers, to the EPA’s Science Advisory Board (SAB). The committee is composed of 22 women and 25 men with 16 people of color. The selections for the committees were composed of well-qualified experts with a cross-section of scientific disciplines to provide insight to EPA leadership. For the first time, the Board will have subcommittees on environmental justice and climate science. Openings on the SAB occur annually typically and a notice will be published to the Federal Register announcing the opportunity for the public to nominate experts to serve on the committee.
