EPA signed a five-year memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the World Health Organization (WHO) that states that the groups will cooperate to protect environmental health and address environmental degradation, while prioritizing environmental justice. This latest MOU comes after 29 years of cooperation between EPA and WHO; the first MOU between the two was initiated in June of 1992 and the continuation of this relationship affirms the importance of technical cooperation on environmental health and protection. Areas of cooperation include climate change and health, toxic chemicals pesticides, and risk assessment, and environmental justice.
