FEMA partnered with the Small Business Administration to lower the minimum household income threshold to qualify for certain types of FEMA assistance. According to FEMA, these changes resulted in an additional $38.7 million in disaster assistance to low-income renters and homeowners, including $6.7 million allocated to 2,500 survivors of Hurricanes Fiona and Ian.
