President Biden Signed Executive Orders Restoring Boundaries of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante Monuments

President Biden signed three executive orders to restore the boundaries of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments. The protections are designed, in part, to conserve sites that are culturally and spiritually important to Tribal Nations, and areas used for tribal practices. The orders reverse changes made under former President Trump that drastically reduced the size and protections for the monuments.
