Final Rule

The US Army Corps of Engineers released a final rule to change how the agency evaluates and develops projects. The rule stated that the agency would give equal weight to “environmental, economic and social effects” of water projects and account for flood risks through a range of flood prevention tools including consideration of nature-based solutions. The rule went into effect on Jan. 17, 2025.
