The White House released the National Strategy for Reducing Food Loss and Waste and Recycling Organics. The National Strategy is expected to reduce food loss and waste to reduce food costs and reduce methane emissions from the buildup of organic waste in landfills. Through interagency efforts between EPA, USDA, and FDA, the National Strategy is expected to guide new measures and policies to reduce food loss and waste and promote organics recycling, and advance environmental justice by promoting Tribal food sovereignty, reduce pollution, create local employment opportunities, and support green infrastructure.
