The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released a number of closely watched proposed or final rules, including a final Good Neighbor Plan for 2015 Ozone NAAQS; a new proposed Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS) residual risk and technology review; and a proposed rule for regulating carbon emissions from existing and new power plants under Section 111 of the Clean Air Act—a replacement for the Obama Administration’s Clean Power Plan and the Trump Administration’s Affordable Clean Energy rule. These regulations have important implications for the US power sector — and for human health.
