EPA announced the automatic addition of seven PFAS to the list of chemicals covered by the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI). The TRI data is reported to EPA annually by those that manufacture or produce the TRI-listed chemicals. The addition of these chemicals to the TRI allows communities to learn how these chemicals are managed by manufacturing and processing facilities. The addition of these chemicals advances EPA’s PFAS Strategic Roadmap to protect human and environmental health from PFAS. With the addition of the new seven PFAS, data will be collected on almost 200 PFAS in communities across the nation. The new PFAS, along with the previous 189 TRI-listed PFAS are subject to EPA’s recent action requiring all PFAS to be listed as chemicals of special concern.
