Agency Structure

EPA launched the first-ever National Environmental Youth Advisory Council (NEYAC) in November 2023 to provide independent advice to EPA Administrator Regan on how the agency’s actions affect youth communities. The NEYAC includes members, with at least 50% of those members from, or working in, disadvantaged communities as defined by the Climate & Economic Justice Screening Tool. The NEYAC includes members between the ages of 16 and 29 years old who will serve 2 year terms. Learn more about the NEYAC.

On Oct. 22, 2024, the NEYAC published their final recommendations addressing EPA’s charge questions on environmental justice, climate change, and food loss and waste as they affect youth communities.
