Interior published final guidance, 301 DM 7, on Procedures for the Inclusion and Application of Indigenous Knowledge. The handbook incorporated feedback received through government-to-government consultation in 2023 with federally recognized Tribes, Alaska Native Corporations, and the Native Hawaiian Community. The handbook includes recommendations for elevating, including, and applying Indigenous Knowledge across departmental actions and scientific research, and provides a case study from the Alexander Archipelago Wolf Species Status Assessment.
