OSHA launched its first ever “National Emphasis Program” for heat, in which OSHA inspectors will target workplaces at ‘high risk” for heat exposure. The program allows inspectors to proactively visit a site instead of having to wait to receive a complaint or notice of a reported fatality or injury. Inspectors will assess whether workers are being protected from high heat and look for complaints about other hazards.
