Work with Us: Senior Staff Attorney


The Environmental & Energy Law Program (EELP) at Harvard Law School is excited to announce an opening for a Senior Staff Attorney. This role offers the opportunity to engage in groundbreaking legal and policy research, collaborating with leading experts to address complex public health and climate challenges.

About the Role:
The Senior Staff Attorney will focus on helping agencies navigate and respond to recent Supreme Court decisions related to administrative law, including the major questions doctrine and Loper Bright. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing innovative research and strategies on federal rulemaking and agency expertise.
  • Leading and collaborating on initiatives, including our new moot court for environmental cases.
  • Supervising and mentoring staff attorneys, fellows, and student research assistants.
  • Building partnerships with stakeholders in academia, government, NGOs, and the private sector.

 Who We’re Looking For:
A candidate with:

  • A J.D. degree, admission to a state bar, and at least 5 years of relevant post-graduate professional experience.
  • Expertise in environmental statutes, case law, and appellate litigation.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • A collaborative and entrepreneurial approach, thriving in a team-oriented environment.

Location: Harvard Law School in Cambridge, MA, with some travel opportunities.
