EPA announced it will publicly update and release national air toxics data and risk estimates on an annual basis. Previously, EPA provided a national air toxics assessment every 3-4 years. The goal was to increase transparency and provide the public with access to information regarding air quality. This was apathy of EPA’s commitment to “provide communities, especially those disproportionately facing burdens of pollution and waste, with the most complete, frequent and useful information available about air pollution and its impacts.” The data will also be accessible via EJSCREEN.
