EPA released two new data tools that enable the public to investigate EJ-related concerns in their own communities. These tools were intended to use increased transparency to empower the public to help EPA ensure compliance. The tools include the Enforcement and Compliance History Online (ECHO) website, which was updated to include EJ metrics and analysis tools, and the newly released Benzene Fenceline Monitoring Dashboard, which monitors benzene concentrations around petroleum refineries. These updates allow users to search for facilities and pollution sources affecting areas with EJ concerns and analyze trends in EJ compliance and enforcement.
