DOT released a guide for funding recipients – Promising Practices for Meaningful Public Involvement in Transportation Decision-Making, in an effort to promote meaningful public engagement. In creating this guide, the agency collected information from transportation stakeholders and communities, and planned to solicit public comment for future updates to this guide. DOT also conducted pilot trainings and provided technical assistance around the use and implementation of this guide.
