Agency Structure

EPA created the first-ever National Environmental Youth Advisory Council (NEYAC) to consist of 16 members that would provide independent advice to EPA Administrator Regan on how the agency’s initiative would impact youth communities. EPA planned for at least 50% of NEYAC members to come from or work in disadvantaged communities as defined by the Climate & Economic Justice Screening Tool. THE NEYAC includes members between the ages of 16 and 29 years old who will serve 2 year terms. NEYAC will provide recommendations to EPA on the Agency’s efforts to address environmental issues affecting youth. Learn more about the NEYAC here
