FEMA Published Equity Guide for Local Disaster Recovery Officials

FEMA Published the “Achieving Equitable Recovery: A Post-Disaster Guide for Local Officials and Leaders” as a framework for rebuilding communities. The guidance seeks to provide tools for local officials to promote equality, accountability, and inclusion in recovery planning and rebuilding efforts. These include how to identify community needs, establish critical partnerships, and conduct public engagement. The guide includes eight equity goals to identify the needs of community members and ensure a more accessible and inclusive recovery planning process.
