The Bureau of Reclamation and Indian Health Service released a new MOU committing to efforts to further assist Tribes in development of safe drinking water and community sanitation infrastructure projects. The agencies are expected to collaborate on studies, planning and design for use in developing water infrastructure projects, including projects funded under the Inflation Reduction Act, with the specific intent of expediting completion of such facilities in Tribal communities. The MOU is in furtherance of Executive Order 14112, which directs agencies to undertake measures to remove barriers and streamline Tribal access to resources. The MOU will enable the Bureau of Reclamation to offer technical support for water and sewage infrastructure projects in the future.
