Aug. 23, 2019 The Department of Transportation publishes two interim NEPA policies. The first policy recommends that agency administrators limit environmental impact statements to 150 pages (unless they are unusual in scope or complexity) and environmental assessments to 75 pages. The second policy provides guidance for implementing the One Federal Decision policy. Although the policies are effective immediately as guidance, comments may be submitted online until Sept. 23, 2019.
Sep. 22, 2020 The Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) receives the Department of Transportation’s proposed revisions to its procedures for implementing NEPA. This is the first proposed update to these procedures since 1985.
Nov. 23, 2020 The Department of Transportation proposes revisions to its procedures for implementing NEPA.
