HLS Environmental Law Clinic Files Amicus Brief on ESG Rule

Last week, the Harvard Law School Emmett Environmental Law & Policy Clinic filed an amicus brief in the Fifth Circuit supporting the Biden administration’s rule allowing retirement advisers to consider environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues when making decisions for clients. The brief was prepared by Faculty Director Andrew Mergen, Clinical Instructor Sommer Engels, and Clinical Fellow Rosa Hayes. The brief was also mentioned in recent Bloomberg Law and Law360 news stories.
